More than 100 people were killed and 133 injured as hundreds of Taliban militants launched an attack in Afghanistan’s city of Ghazni since August 10. The clashes are still going on.
Of the deceased, at least 90 were either military or law enforcement personnel, while civilians accounted for 13 of the deaths, reported Sputnik.

Both Iranian forces and Kurdish rebels announced over ten dead on the opposite side on Saturday in sustained fighting in northeastern Iran the night before near the town of Oshnavieh (Shno), not far from the border of the Kurdistan Region.
“Heavy clashes erupted between Kurdistan’s #Peshmerga Forces and #Iran’s terrorist #IRGC at 01:00,” read an online statement released by the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI), adding, “The clash lasted for 5 hours and according to initial reports 12 IRGC terrorist were killed.”

Children travelling on a bus were among dozens of people killed on Thursday by Saudi-led coalition air strikes in northern Yemen.
The vehicle was hit as it transported the children in Dahyan market in Saada province, according to the International Committee of the Red Cross. The ICRC said on Twitter that the hospital it supports in the area had received the bodies of 29 children, all aged under 15, and a further 48 wounded, most of them children.

Israeli aircraft struck more than 150 targets in the Gaza Strip in response to a barrage of rockets from the Palestinian territory, the Israeli military said Thursday, marking a sharp escalation even as negotiations were taking place over a long-term cease-fire.
Militants in the strip fired more than 180 rockets and mortar rounds into Israel, the Israeli military said. Most were intercepted or fell on open ground. But at least 11 Israelis were injured after projectiles slammed into residential areas, blowing out windows and leaving cars and buildings pockmarked with shrapnel.

Somali rebel group Al-Shabaab assaulted a military base Thursday in the northern region of Puntland and separately ambushed an airbase in the south-central Middle Shabelle region.
The attack in the semi-autonomous Puntland region started with suicide blasts at Af-Urur army camp, which is located about 100km west of Bossaso town, said military officer Nour Hassan.
