The Iraqi Federal Police have announced killing 18 Islamic State members in an operation, east of Nineveh.
A statement by the command, issued on Thursday, said troops “carried out an operation in Qurret Goukh mountains in search for remnants of Islamic State.”

Ethnic Wa rebels shut down churches, destroyed buildings, and temporarily detained several pastor in eastern Burma (Myanmar), shaving their heads before releasing them.
Persecution watchdog Morning Star News reports that earlier this month, soldiers of Myanmar’s largest ethnic rebel group, the United Wa State Army (UWSA), attacked the churches in the rebel’s autonomous region in Shan state.

Nigerian troops repelled another attempt by Boko Haram jihadists to overrun a military base in northeast Nigeria, military and civilian sources told AFP on Tuesday.
Dozens of jihadist fighters from an Islamic State-backed Boko Haram faction attacked the base on Sunday in the village of Kekeno, near the garrison town of Monguno, in Borno state.

Fighting in the south of Tripoli has ended, Tripoli Security Directorate announced on Tuesday, after nearly a month of fierce clashes that left over 115 people dead and 560 others wounded.
Sources said that Misrata-based Al-Smoud Brigade, led by former Libya Dawn Operation commander Saleh Badi, withdrew from Naqliyia camp in the Airport Road early in the day while Trahuna’s 7th Brigade retreated to their city.

Three PKK terrorists including two women were “neutralized” in Turkey’s southeastern Siirt province, according to a security source.
Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized” in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.
