Libya: Car bomb death toll risen to 33 and wounded 71 people in Benghazi

The death toll from a car bomb blast has risen to 33 people and wounded 71 others near a mosque in the Libyan city of Benghazi on Tuesday night, security officials told Al Arabiya.

The explosives-rigged vehicle blew up in front of a mosque in the central neighborhood of Al-Sleimani, a security source said.

Somalia: 5 soldiers killed in a roadside landmine explosion outside Mogadishu

At least five soldiers people were killed, several others wounded following a roadside landmine explosion outside Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Tuesday morning, Garowe Online reports.

A witness confirmed to GO that the incident took place at KM13 area after a remote-controlled Improvised Explosive Device [IED] has ripped apart a military vehicle carrying military forces.

Iraq: 11 Islamic State (IS) militants killed in military operation in Kirkuk

Eleven Islamic State (IS) militants were killed Monday during an operation in Hawijah area in the western part of Iraq’s Kirkuk province, a local police source told Xinhua.

A joint force from local police and paramilitary tribal fighters carried out a search campaign looking for IS militants in several villages in the rugged area of Zab in west of the town of Hawijah, which located some 230 km north of Baghdad, the source said on condition of anonymity.

Niger: Boko Haram terrorists flee back to Nigeria after hitting Niger military base in Diffa

Gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded islamic sect, Boko Haram, have attacked Nigerien Military base in Toumour village, Southeastern part of Diffa Province, military sources in Niger have revealed.

Afghanistan: 4 gunmen storm Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul

At least four gunmen stormed the Intercontinental Hotel in the Afghan capital on Saturday evening, triggering a shootout with security forces, officials said.

Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish said the hotel came under attack at around 9 p.m. Afghan Special Forces arrived at the hotel in response to the attack, Danish said.
