Afghanistan: 12 people killed in Taliban attack in Kabul near Spanish embassy
At least 12 people were killed on Saturday during an Afghan Taliban’s attack on a guest house near Spanish embassy in Kabul, sources said.
The killed included two Spanish citizens, one Afghan civilian, five police personnel and four attackers, Xinhua reported.
Libya: Libyan rival parliaments say they will sign UN-backed peace deal
Libya’s rival parliaments will next week sign a UN-sponsored agreement on forming a national unity government, they announced on Friday (Dec 11), as world leaders press them to end chaos in the country.
Salah el-Makhzoum, a vice president of the Tripoli-based parliament, called this a “happy day” in announcing that “the political accord will be signed on December 16”.

Burundi: Burundi military sites attacked, official says many attackers dead
Gunmen attacked military sites in Burundi’s capital on Friday and many of the assailants were killed or arrested after heavy fighting, officials and soldiers said.
Soldiers said at least five of their number were killed in the latest flare-up in a nation Western powers fear may be sliding back into ethnic conflict.

The Shan State Army-North (SSA-N) agreed to withdraw troops north of a key highway on Tuesday after two days of talks with government negotiators aimed at addressing conflict which broke out in central Shan State on Oct. 6, leaving thousands of civilians displaced.
A member of the SSA-N told The Irrawaddy the armed group had agreed to withdraw troops from the north side of a highway between Mong Nawng and Kyethi townships following the Dec. 7-8 dialogue in Naypyidaw.
