Nigeria’s military has “neutralised” 24 Boko Haram terrorists in coordinated operations in the West African country’s northeast, an army statement said on Thursday.
Nigerian troops backed by air support and local forces eliminated several Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in northeastern operations between July 4 and 9, the army wrote on X.

The Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) announced a major update on Wednesday regarding its ongoing military campaign in the Amhara region, claiming it has “annihilated” dozens of Fano fighters in coordinated operations carried out between June 25 and July 1.
According to a statement published on the Defense Force’s social media platforms, the campaign — dubbed Operation Tide — involved coordinated efforts between the Eastern Command and various combat support units. The ENDF reported killing 83 fighters described as “extremists” and injuring 39 others in operations concentrated in the South Gondar and Gojjam areas.

A fresh wave of Russian airstrikes killed at least one person and wounded six others in Ukraine as hopes for a breakthrough in the efforts to end the three-year-old war were further dashed.
Russia fired a total of 537 aerial weapons at Ukraine, including 477 drones and decoys and 60 missiles, Ukraine’s air force said. It was “the most massive airstrike” since the war began after Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, Yuriy Ihnat, head of communications for Ukraine’s air force, told The Associated Press
