Libya: Haftar’s forces strike Murzuq in southern Libya

The member of Murzuq municipality Mohammed Omar said a warplane for Khalifa Haftar’s forces struck Saturday afternoon Murzuq in southern Libya twice.

Omar told the German news agency that between six and eight people had been killed in airstrikes on eastern part of the town - Anti-Desertification Project - near the meteorology building where many houses are located.

Syria: Russia announces ceasefire in Idlib rebel stronghold

A ceasefire by Syrian government forces will come into force on Saturday morning in the rebel-held province of Idlib, Russia has announced.

The unilateral agreement will begin at 06:00 (03:00 GMT), Russia’s defence ministry said.

Ukraine: Russian-led forces launch 14 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbass

On August 28, the armed formations of the Russian Federation and its mercenaries violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbass 14 times.

“The enemy used 82mm and 120mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms to shell Ukrainian positions,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

Syria: YPG Kurdish forces pull back as work to establish US-Turkey safe-zone in Syria progresses

Kurdish forces in north-eastern Syria are preparing to remove heavy weapons and fighters from the strip along the Turkish border that is to be protected by a safe zone agreed by Washington and Ankara.

The YPG militia withdrew from the Tal Abyad and Ras Al Ain border positions in recent days, proving it is serious about ongoing talks, the Kurdish-led authority in north and east Syria said.

Yemen: Yemen government takes more southern areas from Southern Transitional Council (STC) separatists

Yemeni officials say government forces have reclaimed more southern areas from separatists backed by the United Arab Emirates in clashes this week that killed at least 48 on both sides.

The officials said Tuesday that government forces took back several districts and towns in Abyan province, followed by a declaration of a cease-fire, in response to a call by the Saudi-led coalition.
