The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) on Friday evening seized Mantong Town, completing its takeover of Palaung Self-Administered Zone in northern Shan State, TNLA officers confirmed on Saturday.
The town was seized after the TNLA – an ethnic Palaung army – routed the junta’s Infantry Battalion 130, which was based in Mantong.

At least 29 more Myanmar soldiers entered India on Thursday fleeing an attack by insurgents on their military base close to the Indian border, an Indian police official said, as rebels step up their assaults against the ruling junta .
Earlier this week, 43 Myanmar soldiers entered India’s Mizoram state after their military bases were overrun by the rebels. Nearly 40 were sent back by Indian authorities through a different border crossing point a few hundred kms east.

Myanmar junta troops suffered heavy casualties during intense clashes with the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Mandalay’s Mogok Township on Saturday, according to the TNLA.
Fighting broke out twice on Saturday when troops from Light Infantry Battalions 88, 104 and 102 and Light Infantry Division 44 advanced into upper Nyaung Kone village in Mogok Township, a TNLA Brigade 2 stronghold.

Five Papuan independence fighters were killed in a clash between security forces and a rebel group in Indonesia’s restive Papua region, police and rebels said Monday.
A joint military and police force killed the five fighters from the West Papua Liberation Army, the armed wing of the Free Papua Movement, in a battle on Saturday with dozens of rebels armed with military-grade weapons and arrows in the hilly Serambakon village in Papua Highland province, said Faizal Ramadhani, a national police member who heads the joint security force.

The armed forces of the breakaway Republic of Artsakh, established in Nagorno-Karabakh with the support of the Armenian government, have started transferring their weapons and military equipment to the Azerbaijani army, as stipulated by the cease-fire agreement reached by Baku and Yerevan on September 20.
On September 19, Baku launched a massive strike on Nagorno-Karabakh, an enclave of Azerbaijan predominantly populated by ethnic Armenians, using artillery and combat drones but describing the attack as a “local anti-terrorist operation.”
