India: At least 73 killed in West Bengal train crash caused by maoist rebels People’s Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCPA)


At least 73 bodies have been pulled out of the mangled wreckage where two trains crashed in eastern India early Friday in an incident authorities linked to Maoist rebels.

By Friday night, hours after the massive collision, prospects were getting dim for anybody else left in the wreckage of crushed train cars, rescuers said.

Also about 115 passengers were injured when 13 cars of the Lokmanya Tilak Gyaneshwari Express derailed, capsized on a parallel track and were slammed by a cargo train, authorities said.

Pakistan: 80 people killed in Lahore by an attack of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)

Gunmen attacked worshippers in two Ahmedi worship places in Garhi Shahu and Model Town areas in Lahore on Friday, taking hostages and killings at least 70 people besides injuring around 100 including police personnel.

The gunmen opened fire shortly after Friday prayers and threw grenades at two Ahmadi worship places. At least 23 persons were killed in Model Town while 47 casualties were reported at Garhi Shahu. Police cleared worship places after intense fighting. One of the assailants died on the spot while according to reports police arrested two attackers one of them in injured condition.

Turchia: Killed four militants of Pkk in a fire fight with army

United Nations voted to withdraw ONU force from Chad and Central African Republic

The UN Security Council has voted to withdraw a UN force from Chad and the Central African Republic.

The 4,375-strong force is to pull out in stages by the end of 2010.

It was deployed in 2009 to protect hundreds of thousands of displaced Chadians and refugees from the Sudanese province of Darfur.

The withdrawal was requested by Chad. But Amnesty International warned that the UN decision could endanger thousands of refugees in the region.

North Korea: North Korea order to its soldiers to be ready for war

North korean leader Kim Jong-il has ordered to its soldiers to be ready for war. South korean agency Yonhap affirms it, citing sources from North Korea.

Tension between two koreas has had an sudden escalation with sanctions decided Monday by Seoul against Pyongyang, accused of sinking of a south korean corvette that has caused the dead of 46 people.
