Pakistan: Pakistan says 2 soldiers killed in clash with India

Pakistan on Wednesday said two of its soldiers were killed in a clash with India along the de facto border in the disputed Kashmir region.

The army, in a statement, said an “unprovoked” attack from India claimed the lives of two of its troops.

Syria: 28 dead as Islamic State group and government forces clash in Raqqa

Clashes in Syria between pro-regime forces and Islamic State group jihadists, along with air strikes, have killed at least 28 fighters in the northern province of Raqqa, a war monitor said Tuesday.

“IS has since Monday carried out several attacks on Syrian army and allied positions and checkpoints in the Badia (desert) of Raqqa, killing 13 members of regime forces,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Philippines: Army says a New People’s Army (NPA) guerrilla dead in clash in Zambo Sur town

A communist guerrilla suspect was killed in a clash between government soldiers and New People’s Army (NPA) in the town of Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur province on Monday (Sept. 21).

Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, commander of the 53rd Infantry Battalion, said a platoon under his unit clashed with armed men believed to be from the main regional guerrilla unit of NPA’s Western Mindanao Party Committee.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: 70 armed groups agree to end hostilities in South Kivu

About 70 armed groups active in South Kivu, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), have pledged to end hostilities in areas under their control, local media reported on Thursday.

The announcement came on Wednesday at the end of a two-day dialogue held in Muresa, near the city of Bukavu, under the auspices of the Interprovincial Commission to Support the Awareness, Disarmament, Demobilization, and Community Reintegration Process (CIAP-DDRC).

Nigeria: Nigerian forces kill 16 Boko Haram terrorists

Nigerian troops killed 16 members of the Boko Haram terror group in the northeast, a top defense official said Friday.

According to a report by Anadolu Agency, defense Ministry spokesman John Enenche said terrorists were killed while others fled with wounds sustained during an air operation in Kassa Kura in Maiduguri Town.
