Eleven people have been killed in a series of attacks by militants in southern Thailand.
Three paramilitary rangers are among the dead.
They were ambushed while travelling in the back of a ute in Pattani province.
Four rubber tappers, reportedly Buddhists, were also killed in two separate attacks in Pattani.

President Benigno Aquino 3rd announced on Sunday that a deal had been reached with Muslim separatist rebels to end a decades-long insurgency that has left more than 150,000 people dead.
“This framework agreement paves the way for a final and enduring peace in Mindanao,” Aquino said, referring to the southern third of the Philippines that the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) regards as its ancestral homeland.

The United Wa State Army (UWSA) has released around 20 soldiers from the Shan State Army-South (SSA-South) following a meeting between representatives of the two groups last Sunday, said an SSA-South spokesman.
The SSA-South soldiers were taken into custody for trespassing into UWSA-controlled area in Mongton township, eastern Shan State, on July 31. Since then, the two groups had been in tense negotiations for the release of those captured.

Howitzer artillery shelling is being used on civilian territory surrounding the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) headquarters of Laiza, claim rebel sources.
Government army artillery battalions 364 and 370 under Artillery Operational Command have reportedly been firing 105 mm howitzers against KIA bases in northern Burma since last week.
