Three Georgian servicemen were killed after a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden truck into their base in the Helmand province, accompanied with an attack by a group of insurgents, Defense Minister, Irakli Alasania, said late on Monday evening.
Several Georgian soldiers were wounded.
The Shan State Army-South (SSA-S) has lost an outpost near the Sino-Burmese border, after coming under a fierce attack by the Burmese army on Thursday morning, rebels told DVB on Friday.
SSA-S spokesperson, Major Sai Lao Hseng, said the group was forced to withdraw from their outpost in Nawngma village, Namhkam township, on Thursday afternoon after hundreds of Burmese soldiers descended on their territory.
“After the clash went on for a while, the Burmese army began sending more reinforcements – they had about 500-600 troops, while we only had some ambush units and 100-200 troops scattered around the area,” said Sai Lao Hseng.

An outpost belonging to the Shan State Army-South (SSA-S) in northeastern Burma was burnt down on Sunday by government soldiers, who claimed to be searching for four Burmese “civilians” who went missing at the end of last month, rebels say.
Burmese soldiers raided an SSA-S outpost in Tenghkam village in Namhkam township in northern Shan state on Sunday under the premise of looking for the four individuals – who are believed to be military intelligence personnel – and set it on fire when they could not be found, according to the rebels.
A new bout of fighting erupted on Monday in a border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the latest indication of a sharp deterioration in relations between the important US allies.
Pakistan is seen as vital in bringing stability to Afghanistan as most Western forces prepare to withdraw by the end of next year.
The United States and other powers involved in Afghanistan have been trying to promote cooperation between the Asian neighbours, who have a history of mistrust.

In east Burma’s Karen State, hundreds of civilians have fled from their homes as fighting continues between the rebel Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) and a government-backed militia, the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF).
The displaced families have left villages near the town of Myaing Gyi Ngu, a former stronghold base of the DKBA where government troops have reportedly been dispatched to curb tensions between the two rival militias.
