Members of anti-regime opposition forces group, Jaish al-Fatah, take security measures on Saturday after seizing control of an artillery school in Aleppo
Syrian rebels claimed on Saturday they have broken a three-week government siege of the city of Aleppo after more than 500 rebels and 130 civilians had been killed in fighting since Sunday.
But state television said late in the day the army had regained control of several key points in a military complex south of Aleppo that rebels overran earlier.

An alliance of Kurdish and Arab forces has reportedly managed to retake the strategic northern Syrian city of Manbij from Takfiri Daesh terrorists.
The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) managed to take “almost complete control” of the area, located 446 kilometers (277 miles) north of the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Saturday.

Egypt has announced that its forces have taken out the commander of the Da’esh (ISIS) affiliate terrorist group in the Sinai Peninsula, Ansar Beyt al-Maqdis.
The Egyptian Air Force reportedly killed Abu Doa’a Al-Ansari Thursday in air strikes on the group in northern Sinai, near El Arish, according to a statement in Arabic posted on the Egyptian Army’s Facebook page.

Two rebels and 17 Angolan soldiers died in clashes that occurred in an oil-producing province between government forces and the separatist Front for the Liberation of the Enclave of Cabinda (FLEC), according to a statement by the rebel group on Monday.
The statement said the largest clashes occurred on Saturday and Sunday, near the enclave’s border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
