South Sudanese rival forces have clashed around a strategic town, Yei, which is about 160 km south of the national capital, Juba, and towards the Ugandan border.
This is after the opposition forces of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA-IO) under the leadership of the former first vice president, Riek Machar, captured Lasu county, southwest of Yei.

Over the weekend, nearly 100 people were killed in protests organized in different parts of Ethiopia.
According to Amnesty International, 67 people died when “security forces fired live bullets at peaceful protesters” in different towns and cities in the Oromia region over the weekend.”

A faction of the Pakistani Taliban has said it carried out a suicide bombing that killed at least 70 people at a hospital in the city of Quetta.
The attacker targeted a crowd that had gathered as the body of a prominent lawyer murdered earlier on Monday, Bilal Kasi, was being brought in.
Lawyers and journalists were among the dead. About 120 people were injured.

At least 93 people have been killed at a hospital in Pakistan after a bomb exploded at the main gate in south-western Pakistan, officials said.
More than fifty others were wounded in the blast which hit the government-run hospital in Quetta.

A source from Derna confirmed that 10 fighters from Dignity Operation forces, led by Khalifa Haftar, were killed and 19 others were wounded due to an attack by Derna Shura Council fighters on Dignity Operation’s location in Al-Thaher Al-Hamar on Friday dawn.
The Head of the Media office of the Derna Shura Council of Mujahideen, Muhammad Al-Mansouri, said they took tanks and weapons as well as ammunition from the Dignity Operation forces after the latter retreated from Al-Thaher Al-Hamar in southern Derna.
