Somalia: Kenyan forces battled al-Shabaab militants
Fierce fighting between Kenyan military and al-Shabaab fighters took place in Hosingow area in Lower Jubba region of southern Somalia on Sunday, reports said.
The Kenyan army has engaged in a “fierce” battle with al-Shabaab fighters, according to local residents who said they could heard gunfire and sound of blasts as result of the attack.
The combat flared up early on Sunday morning after al-Shabaab attack on KDF base in Hosingow town. Both sides have suffered unspecified number of fatalities and injuries.
