The Ministry of Interior (MoI) officials announced earlier today that the Afghan forces seized control of Khanshin district from Taliban militants this morning.

According to the local government officials, the control of the district was retaken following heavy clashes between the Afghan security forces and Taliban militants.

The officials further added that the Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers, Afghan National Police (ANP) forces together with the Afghan Public Order and Border Protection forces managed to enter into Khanshin district late on Thursday amid heavy clash.

There are no reports regarding the casualties incurred to Taliban militants and the Afghan forces during the gun battle.
