Afghanistan: 136 militants killed in clashes with army in eastern district of Kunar
More than 130 militants have been killed and injured in the mountainous Dangam district of the eastern Kunar province over the past 24 hours as clash goes on in the area, an army spokesman in the province said Tuesday.
“A total of 136 insurgents have been killed and injured in Dangam district over the past 24 hours,” spokesman of Army Corps 201 Sylab, Harron Yousufzai, told Xinhua.
He also confirmed that one Afghan soldier had been killed and four others injured since Monday.
The operations which launched Monday morning have been backed by aircrafts, he added without giving more details.
