At least six YPG/PKK terrorists were neutralized by Turkish security forces in northern Syria, Turkey’s National Defense Ministry said on Monday.
“Our heroic commandos carried out yet another successful operation in the [Operation] Peace Spring region. Six PKK/YPG terrorists who attempted to attack to disrupt peace and security, were neutralized,” the ministry said on Twitter.

Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, who was also known as Abu Muhammad al-Masri, was considered first in line to take over al-Qaeda* after its current leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri.
The killing of al-Qaeda’s second-in-command, Abu Muhammad al-Masri, was kept in secret until now. He was accused of helping to mastermind the 1998 bombings of two US embassies in Africa and then killed in Iran in August by Israeli agents acting on the orders of the United States, the New York Times reported, citing intelligence officials.

Five Yemeni children were injured yesterday in shelling carried out by the Iranian-backed Houthi group on a residential neighbourhood in Yemen’s southwestern city of Taiz.
A military source told Anadolu Agency that the children were hit “while they were playing in the street,” adding that they were transferred to the hospital in a “serious condition”.

A senior Peshmerga commander announced on Saturday that Kurdish forces conducted last Saturday a joint operation with the US-led Coalition against members of the so-called Islamic State southwest of the Kurdistan Region capital of Erbil.
The Peshmerga’s Gwer-Qarachokh Front Commander, Sirwan Barzani, said in a social media post that “a joint operation by #Peshmerga commandos & Coalition forces was conducted at Qerechukh mountain.”

Russian air strikes killed dozens of fighters from a Turkey-backed rebel group in northwest Syria on Monday, as Turkish officials fear the government, backed by Russia, is preparing to overrun Idlib.
A high-ranking commander in Failaq al-Sham told Middle East Eye that more than 100 were killed and 150 people wounded after Russia targeted the faction’s training camp in Jabal Duwayli area in Idlib province.
