Syria: At least 40 Islamic State (ISIS) militants killed in fresh clashes with Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Kurdish-Arab alliance north Aleppo

At least 40 militant fighters of the Islamic State (ISIS) were killed on Saturday in clashes with the western-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Leadership of the SDF reported in a statement that ISIS militants launched on Sunday a new offensive against their headquarters in the vicinity of Tishreen Dam in northeastern Aleppo.

“The terror group targeted our headquarters in the environs of Tishreen Dam with several car bomb attacks in a bid to break into the recently liberated towns in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo,” the SDF said. “However, our units responded to the terrorists with artillery shelling, causing heavy losses in the group’s ranks.”
