Iraq: 15 Islamic State (IS) militants killed in joint operation in west of Anbar

Five Islamic State members were killed in a joint operation, west of Anbar, the Iraqi Interior Minister said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the ministry’s Security Media Center, said “the Jazeera Operations Command, in collaboration with the U.S.-led Coalition troops, managed to kill 15 militants inside a cave, northeast of Akashat region.”

Saudi Arabia: Eritrea and Ethiopia officially sign peace agreement in Saudi Arabia overseen by King Salman

Eritrea and Ethiopia signed a peace deal on Sunday at a ceremony in Jeddah overseen by King Salman.

The agreement officially ends more than 20 years of war between the two countries.

Israel has fired missiles at Damascus International Airport, Syrian state media has reported.

An unnamed military source told Sana news agency on Saturday evening that the Syrian army had confronted an Israeli missile attack.

Turkey: Turkey tells 50,000 Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters to be ready for deployment as tensions rise in Idlib

As the Assad regime and Russian warplanes viciously attack the last opposition-held stronghold of Syria’s Idlib, Turkey ramped up its military reinforcements in northern Syria and instructed over 50,000 Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters stationed in Afrin, Azaz, Jarabulus, al-Bab and al-Rai to “be ready for military deployment.”

Yemen: Clashes and air strikes kill 84 people in Hodeida

Clashes and air strikes have left 84 people dead around Yemen’s Red Sea port city of Hodeida since the collapse of UN-brokered peace talks, hospital sources said on Sunday.

The sources in Hodeida province, controlled by Houthi rebels, said 11 soldiers and 73 insurgents had been killed since the talks were abandoned on Saturday.
