Two Syrian rebel groups began withdrawing their heavy weapons Saturday from a northwestern area of the country where Russia and Turkey have agreed to set up a demilitarized zone, opposition activists said.
Rami Abdurrahman of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the Free Idlib Army and Failaq al-Sham started removing artillery and mortar pieces from areas close to the town of Maaret al-Numan.

Zaidi cleric, Mohammad Abdulazem al-Houthi, mobilized on Monday his forces in Houthi-controlled areas following fierce clashes between his forces and others backed by Abdulmalek al-Houthi.
“Mohammad Abdulazeem mobilized his forces in Sanaa, Amran and Dhamar to protect their comrades who are currently present in Houthi-controlled areas in Saada,” Yemeni tribal sources told Asharq Al-Awsat on.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a powerful attack on the jihadist rebel positions in southwest Idlib, today, after a rather quiet week.
Led by their Republican Guard and 4th Division, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a flurry of missiles towards the Jisr Al-Shughour District, hitting a number of targets near the Turkish border.

The Iraqi Federal Police have announced killing 18 Islamic State members in an operation, east of Nineveh.
A statement by the command, issued on Thursday, said troops “carried out an operation in Qurret Goukh mountains in search for remnants of Islamic State.”

Gunmen fired on a military parade in southwestern Iran on Saturday, killing 25 people, almost half of them members of the Revolutionary Guards, state news agencies reported, in one of the worst attacks ever on the elite force.
State television said the assault, which wounded more than 60 people, targeted a stand where Iranian officials had gathered in the city of Ahvaz to watch an annual event marking the start of the Islamic Republic’s 1980-88 war with Iraq.
