Clashes occurred between the Afghan National Police and the Taliban radical group overnight Saturday in the Spin Buldak district of the southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan near the border with Pakistan, Sputnik has learned from local sources.

Authorities of Afghanistan announced on Thursday that clashes that took place in two provinces of Afghanistan have resulted in the death of five police officials and 10 Taliban insurgents on Wednesday night.
Chairman of the provincial council of Kunduz province of Afghanistan, Mohammad Yousuf Ayoubi, said that an attack that was launched by Talbian militants on a security checkpoint in the province has resulted in the death of five police officials and left three injured and six missing.

The terrorist group Daesh has claimed responsibility for an attack in northern Mozambique close to the site of gas projects worth $60 billion.
On Monday, militants attacked the town of Mocimboa da Praia having occupied some locations, including an army barracks, before being expelled by security forces yesterday.
