Yemeni government forces carried out strikes on Houthi positions in the southwestern Taiz province and downed a drone in neighboring Lahj province on Wednesday, while the group fired ballistic missiles toward the coastal Ras al-Ara area, according to military-affiliated media.
The Yemeni Armed Forces’ media center said forces from the 4th Military Region targeted Houthi positions, barracks, and personnel on the Al-Kadha front west of Taiz.
The Al-Kadha front has seen repeated fighting in recent days as government forces push to secure the strategically important road linking Taiz with the Red Sea port city of Mokha in western Yemen.
The West Coast news website, affiliated with Yemen’s Joint Forces, later reported that airstrikes targeted a Houthi camp near Al-Rubaie quarry west of Taiz city.
