Nigeria: 3 soldiers injured in clash with Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) fighters

The Nigerian Army says three of its soldiers sustained gunshot injury on Wednesday in Enugu State when troops raided a hideout of suspected members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed militant wing Eastern Security Network (ESN).

In a statement on Friday night, the army said troops of Sector 1 of the Operation Udo Ka carried out the operation in collaboration with other security agencies in Imezi Owa, a community in Ezeagu Local Government Area, in the South-eastern state.

Cameroon: Ambazonia fighters kill soldiers and kidnap 2 civilians in fresh attacks

Armed Ambazonia separatists carried out a series of coordinated attacks late Wednesday, striking communities in both the West and Northwest regions of Cameroon, leaving soldiers dead, a civilian wounded, and two villagers abducted for ransom.

Panic swept through the village of Mbeve 2, in Galim, Bamboutos Department, after heavily armed separatist fighters stormed the locality under cover of darkness.

Mali: Tuareg rebels and jihadists take key military camp in northern Mali

Mali’s army and its Russian mercenary allies surrendered a strategic northern military stronghold to armed rebels on Friday, as Tuareg separatists and jihadists waged a unified front to bring down the country’s junta.

Forces at Mali’s Tessalit military base, a “super-camp” near the Algerian border, surrendered and were scattering southward, an official from the Tuareg-dominated Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) told AFP.
