A total of two security members and an Islamic State (IS) militant were killed on Monday in two clashes in Iraq, the Iraqi military said.
In the Iraqi province of Salahudin, a commando force of the provincial contingent regiment clashed with IS militants during a search operation in Ishaqi area, some 100 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command said in a statement.

The Syrian military has sent dozens of tanks to the Syrian province of Idlib, possibly in preparation for another large scale military operation, BulgarianMilitary.com said on Sunday, citing a military source.
“Despite the [ceasefire] agreements between Russia and Turkey, the Syrian army sends its tanks to the southern part of Idlib province. The reason for this is the failure to comply with an agreement that neither Moscow nor Ankara controls,” a source in the Syrian army told the site.

Six government forces and five Houthi rebels were killed in clashes in the southwestern Taiz province, the Yemeni military said on Saturday.
A military statement said a senior rebel commander was among those killed in the clashes, without giving any further details.

The United States has launched a series of air raids in Iraq against several locations of an Iran-backed militia that it blamed for an earlier rocket attack that killed and wounded US and British troops.
Among the facilities attacked late on Thursday was an airport under construction in the holy city of Karbala, an Iraqi airport official confirmed.
