Strong clashes between the Yemeni government and Hashed tribesmen are taking place in the southern region of Sanaa, near the residence of Hussein Ahmar, on 50th street of the capital Sana’a.
The Ahmar family have at least four residence in the area. Locals fear that the fighting will spread to different areas part of the capital after they were mostly focused in northern Sana’a.. At least 400 families have evacuated their homes in the last two hours, eyewitnesses said.

Government officials and residents said fighters from al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) were among those who seized Zinjibar, in Abyan province.
But opponents said President Ali Abdullah Saleh had given up the town to stoke fears of a militant takeover.
He is resisting calls to step down, despite months of popular protests and growing opposition from a key tribe.

Although neither Israel nor the Palestinians confirmed the cease-fire, a significantly smaller number of rockets were fired from Gaza on Sunday and Palestinians reported no Israeli air strikes.
A Palestinian official close to United Nations and Egyptian-mediated negotiations told Reuters on Sunday that Israel and militant groups in Gaza had agreed a truce, as cross-border violence abated.
The latest upsurge in fighting began four days ago when militants from the Hamas group, which rules the Gaza Strip, fired an anti-tank rocket at an Israeli school bus, critically wounding a teenager.

Iraqi forces have clashed with a settlement of Iranian opposition exiles in an offensive that reportedly left at least three people dead.
The violence took place at Camp Ashraf, a settlement near Iraq’s border with Iran — home to some 3,500 members of the banned left-wing Islamic group Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization, aka People’s Mujahedin Organization of Iran.

In Gaza five people have been killed and three wounded in Israeli airstrikes launched in retaliation for a Palestinian rocket attack on an Israeli school bus.
The Israeli military said it had killed two militants from the Islamist group Hamas and hospital sources said three Palestinian civilians died and three were injured.
An Israeli cabinet minister said that the strikes would continue and were designed to make people regret firing on Israel.
The strikes hit the town of Khan Yunis knocking out electricity supplies in some parts of the territory. Hamas facilities and smuggling tunnels were also damaged.
