According to Tasnim news agency, one of IRGC forces was martyred in the attack and three others were injured.
The attack was carried out at 11:30 local time, as armed men tried to cross the border into Iran.
Majid Aqa Babaei, director of the Interior Ministry department for border affairs, said the terrorists were pushed back by Iranian forces and could not achieve their evil goals.

Sixteen Yemeni pro-government fighters were killed on Tuesday in separate clashes with Huthi rebels and Al-Qaeda fighters in the south of the war-torn country, military sources and officials said.
Forces supporting Yemen’s President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, are fighting both the Houthi rebels who control parts of the country including the capital Sanaa and jihadists in the south.

Iraqi forces approached Mosul from the northern front on Saturday (December 31) after retaking several villages in the area.
The army troops were on Saturday moving on to the village of Argoob, where there was fighting ongoing, Lieutenant Colonel Abbas al-Azawi told Reuters, by phone.

A nationwide ceasefire in Syria, brokered by Russia and Turkey, which back opposing sides in the conflict, came into force at midnight on Friday, local time, (2200 GMT on Thursday) in the latest attempt to end nearly six years of bloodshed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, a key ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, announced the ceasefire on Thursday after preparing the agreement with Turkey, a longtime backer of the opposition.

A total of 97 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed on Sunday in heavy clashes with the security forces and an air strike by the US-led coalition aircraft in the city of Mosul in northern Iraq.
The soldiers of the Ninth Armoured Division repelled attacks by dozens of IS militants and suicide car bombs on the recently-freed neighbourhood of al-Intisar, al-Shaima and al-Salam in southeastern Mosul, leaving 51 militants killed and destroying four suicide car bombs, Xinhua news agency quoted a statement by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command as saying.
