Israel: Iran fired missiles at Israel, Israel strikes back in Syria

Iranian troops reportedly fired a barrage of 20 missiles at Israel, and Israel responded by bombing Iranian military targets in Syria.

The missiles were launched from Syria early Thursday morning. None of them hit Israel. Israel’s missile defense system intercepted four of them, and the rest landed in Syrian territory, according to Israeli news reports. No Israelis were hurt in the attack.

Syria: Iranian soldiers killed in Israeli airstrike on Syrian army base

Iranian soldiers were killed in an Israeli strike in Syria carried out just hours after Donald Trump’s announcement that the US was pulling out of the Iran nuclear agreement, according to monitors.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that Israeli jets had targeted a weapons depot near al-Kiswah, a Syrian military base south of Damascus that is used by Iranian forces. It has been hit by suspected Israeli strikes in the past.

Yemen: Clashes erupt between Yemeni army and Houthi militia in Saada

Military confrontations have continued between Yemen’s National Army forces and the Houthi militia in several battle fronts in the northern province of Saada on Saturday.

Military sources confirmed to Al Arabiya that the most violent confrontations took place in east of Saada.

The army forces were supported by Arab Coalition jets.

Afghanistan: Twin Islamic State (IS) bombings kill 25 people including 9 reporters

Two Islamic State suicide bombers struck in Afghanistan’s capital on Monday, killing 25 people, including nine journalists who had rushed to the scene of the first attack, in the deadliest assault on reporters since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.

An Agence France-Presse photographer, a cameraman for the local Tolo TV station and several reporters for the Afghan branch of Radio Free Europe were among the fatalities, police said. At least 45 people were wounded in the attacks, according to Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanekzai, who said four police were among those killed.
