Russia’s National Anti-terrorism Committee says security forces have killed at least four militants during clashes in the Republic of Dagestan, APA reports quoting Press TV.
The committee said in a statement issued on Saturday that Russian security forces engaged the militants in a shootout in the Khasavyurt region of Dagestan, which borders the Chechen Republic, commonly referred to as Chechnya.
Three Turkish soldiers and 28 Kurdish militants have been killed in air strikes and clashes over the past two days in Turkey’s predominantly Kurdish southeast, the military said on Saturday, two weeks before an election.
The soldiers were killed in clashes with Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in Daglica, in the province of Hakkari, where six others were wounded. The military said it had killed 17 PKK members in a ground operation, which it said was ongoing, to flush out the attackers.

At least 95 people were killed in twin explosions Saturday outside the main train station in the Turkish capital Ankara where protesters were gathering for a peace march, the government said.
Graphic pictures from the scene showed several bodies covered by flags and placards, with bloodstains visible and body parts scattered in the road. Officials said 248 people were hurt, 48 of them seriously.
People’s Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) reported that the action of guerrillas against Kani Spi guard post in Başkale district of Van left 16 soldiers dead, including 4 high-ranking, and 21 others wounded. HPG said the guard post was greatly demolished and became unusable.
In a written statement about the ongoing actions by guerrillas, HPG said one soldier was killed as a result of an assassination action against the soldiers in Durê guard post at the border to Xakurkê area of Medya Defense Zones at 08:30 on October 7.
