In view of constant shelling and provocations at one of the segments of the front line in Donetsk region and in order to improve tactical positions, the unit of one of the Ukrainian brigades was forced to “march a good bit forward” and gain ground, according to a Ukrainian volunteer Yuriy Mysyagin.
The military have already entrenched themselves at new positions, now “setting up new strongholds,” Mysyagin wrote on Facebook.
Three PKK terrorists including two women were “neutralized” in Turkey’s southeastern Siirt province, according to a security source.
Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized” in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.
As the Assad regime and Russian warplanes viciously attack the last opposition-held stronghold of Syria’s Idlib, Turkey ramped up its military reinforcements in northern Syria and instructed over 50,000 Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters stationed in Afrin, Azaz, Jarabulus, al-Bab and al-Rai to “be ready for military deployment.”
Alexander Zakharchenko, the leader of Russian-backed separatists of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic was killed on Friday in a blast at a cafe in downtown Donetsk.
The official media arm of the unrecognized republic confirmed Zakharchenko’s death — along with injuries to at least one other rebel government official — in an explosion it labeled a “terrorist attack.”
Five soldiers have been killed and seven wounded in eastern Ukraine during an assault by separatist forces, Ukraine’s defence ministry says.
Four died during a five-hour clash near Krymske, a village 50km (31 miles) north-west of Luhansk. Another was killed by artillery fire.
