French President Emmanuel Macron early Thursday said the head of Islamic State, Adnan Abou Walid al Sahraoui has been “neutralised” by French forces in the Sahel. The information was shared by the french president on Twitter, who said, Adnan Abou Walid al Sahraoui, leader of the Islamic State terrorist group in the Great Sahara, has been neutralised by French forces.

Two Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and 10 others wounded in the country’s war-torn east as clashes tick back up, the army said on Sunday.

Over the past 24 hours, pro-Russian separatists fired at Ukrainian positions using large-calibre artillery, grenade launchers and drones, the military said in a statement. Most of the attacks took place in the eastern Donetsk region, it said.

A Ukrainian soldier was killed in the conflict-ridden east of the country, the military said Friday, as fears of escalation of tensions between Kiev and Moscow remain high.

Kiev has been battling pro-Russia separatists in the eastern Donetsk and Lugansk regions since 2014, following Moscow’s annexation of the Crimean peninsula.
