Azerbaijan and Armenia have defied calls for a ceasefire amid the worst fighting in decades between the two over a disputed territory.
The US, France and Russia jointly condemned the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, in the southern Caucasus.

Armenia said one of its warplanes was shot down Tuesday by a fighter jet from Azerbaijan’s ally Turkey, killing the pilot, in fighting over the separatist territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. Both Turkey and Azerbaijan denied it.
The move would represent a major escalation in the decades-old conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the region that was reignited on Sunday. It followed numerous calls from around the globe for a cease-fire.

Turkey says it will back Azerbaijan with all means necessary as fighting entered a second day Monday between Azeri and Armenian forces over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh enclave, in a sign the conflict could be widening.
Monday saw Azeri and Armenian forces exchange heavy artillery fire, with each accusing the other of starting the hostilities Sunday.

Fierce fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces continues to rage in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region, with each side claiming an upper hand.
The mountainous area is internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan but is run by ethnic Armenians.

Tatmadaw troops clashed with Kachin Independence Organization/Army (KIO/A) in Muse District, located in northern Shan State, this Thursday (September 24).
Locals told KNG that Burma Army soldiers from LID-88 attacked KIO/A Battalion-36, located on Howa Bum hill, with artillery for hours.
