Around 40 regime soldiers have reportedly been killed during fierce clashes by the Karenni People’s Defense Force (PDF), formed by civilian resistance fighters, and the Karenni Army in Kayah State on Sunday.
A clash broke out in Moe Bye on the Shan-Kayah state border on Sunday morning with the regime forces indiscriminately firing artillery shells at civilian houses, injuring two civilians and destroying homes, according to a member of the Karenni PDF.

Fighting between the Taliban and Afghan government forces has resumed in the restive southern province of Helmand, officials said, ending a three-day ceasefire agreed by the warring sides to mark the Eid al Fitr holiday.
Violence has soared as the United States military presses ahead with a plan to withdraw all of its troops by September, bringing an end to a 20-year military operation in Afghanistan.

Local resistance fighters in the southern Chin State town of Kanpetlet say they injured two members of the junta’s armed forces in a pair of attacks on Thursday night.
The Chinland Defence Force (CDF) said it clashed twice with soldiers late Thursday night—once outside a branch of the state-owned Myanma Economic Bank at around 9pm, and again at a police outpost at around midnight.

The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Myanmar’s military have been fighting fiercely in Mansi Township, Kachin State, and the junta is reportedly conducting air strikes.
The fighting is taking place in Madan Yang village, about 8km from Mansi on the road to Namkham in northern Shan State.

At least 50 people have been killed and more than 100 others wounded in an explosion near a high school for girls in the Afghan capital, Kabul, Afghan officials said Sunday.
The Ministry of Interior (MOI) said the blast happened near the Sayeed-ul-Shuhada School in the Dasht-e-Barchi area on Saturday afternoon.
