Yemen’s government forces have claimed that more than 200 Houthi fighters were killed or wounded in fierce clashes between government troops and Houthi rebels in the southwestern governorate of Taiz. According to the military, a drone was shot down during the fighting, while several military vehicles and tanks belonging to the Houthi group were destroyed or damaged.
According to Türkiye’s state-run Anadolu Agency, the Taiz Military Axis said in a statement posted on the social media platform X on Wednesday that intense fighting continued throughout the day on the Dhubab front, west of Taiz, and the Al-Akrud and Al-Shakab fronts to the south. Clashes that began in the morning intensified further by the afternoon.
The military said fighter aircraft struck a convoy of Houthi tanks and military vehicles in the Ras al-Najd area of Al-Misrakh district.
