At least nine people were killed in fresh clashes in Amadi State in South Sudan’s Western Equatoria, officials said.
The weekend clashes pitted the National Salvation Front (NAS) led by Gen Thomas Cirillo, and a faction of the Dr Riek Machar-led SPLM-IO.

The two factions of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) said they agreed to merge into a unified organizational structure pointing the new umbrella would be formed within a month.
The SRF, which is a coalition established between armed groups in Sudan in 2011, split into two factions in October 2015. Since then, the two factions have operated independently but remained part of the opposition Sudan Call alliance with other political parties.

At least 22 people have been killed after soldiers and members of a militia group clashed in the town of Beni in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, the army says.
Among the dead were 20 fighters of the Mai-Mai militia and two soldiers, regional army spokesman Mak Hazukay said.

General Francisco Yanez, high command of Venezuela’s air force, said he now recognized opposition leader Juan Guaido as interim head-of-state, according to media reports Saturday.
In a video circulating on Twitter on Saturday, Yanez said most of the armed forces have already disavowed Maduro, who claims he is victim of a coup directed by the U.S.

Media officials with Libya’s paramilitary say four fighters have been killed and at least three wounded in an attack they launched on the desert camp of a rival militia in the country’s southwest.
Friday’s assault in the town of Ghadduwah was part of the self-styled Libyan National Army’s campaign in the country’s south, which began on Jan. 15.
